As an executive leader in the life sciences, medical diagnostic and in-vitro diagnostics industries, I have developed a progressive career built on accomplishments in change management, strategic operations leadership, product innovation and bottom-line performance. My demonstrated leadership strengths are complimented by a proven background in driving cultural improvements and building and developing top-performing teams. Serving as an integral member of executive leadership teams with expertise in key management functions, including product development, RA/QA, channel management, commercial leadership, strategic and tactical marketing, R&D management and fiscal oversight. Based on my combined leadership and hands-on experience, I have the ability to grasp and convey complex technical and scientific information within a business environment.
Kelly is the Director of Life Science Tools and Diagnostics at General Inception, a venture studio model based in Palo Alto. General Inception has a portfolio of 40+ early-stage startups in Tools, Therapeutics, and Engineered Biology. Kelly completed a PhD at The University of Chicago in Biomedical Sciences and a postdoc in diabetes research at UCSF. Prior to joining General Inception, Kelly spent 10 years in the biotech industry. At Bio-Rad she covered the life science tools portfolio supporting biopharma customers. She then moved into global marketing, supporting ddPCR and its transition to a diagnostic instrument as well as leading the early access program and launch of a single-cell RNA sequencing platform with Illumina. At Mission Bio, she headed the applications and collaborations group for their single-cell multi-omics platform. Kelly joined General Inception as an executive in the first portfolio startup company making a benchtop DNA synthesizer. Kelly now leads the sourcing and diligence team at General Inception and is excited to work with founders to help them execute their aspirations for company and product ignition and innovation.
