March 15 - How to Create a Competitive SBIR Grant Application Part 1
The importance of proper planning, where to begin, prioritization of tasks, the importance of writing style, aligning an application with division priorities, engaging reviewers, application structure, the importance of advisory committees and academic collaborators, and a detailed approach to creating the Summary, Narrative, and Specific Aims sections, with examples.
March 22 - How to Create a Competitive SBIR Application Part 2
Review the Research Strategy sections: Significance, Innovation, and Approach. Supporting documents and budgeting will also be discussed. We will also review the importance of advisory committees, academic collaborators and the value of Preliminary Data.
March 29 - Understanding the SBIR Review Process
Understanding the review process will enable you to: better understand your target audience, inform your grant creation process and interpret and respond to Summary Statements. We will also discuss what reviewers especially look for in your grant application, and how to make it easy for them to find.
April 5 - Post Phase 1 Management and Phase 2 Prep
We will discuss Just-in-Time requirements, reporting requirements, and planning for Phase 2.
April 12 - Alternatives to the NIH (DoD & NSF)
Although the NIH is a great funding resource, we will discuss alternative SBIR programs that may be useful including DoD and NSF.
