Introduction to Biotechnology Research

A 1-day, exploratory course to learn common research techniques within the biotech industry.

In this hands-on exploratory program students will practice research techniques commonly used in biotechnology industry.  Students will perform aseptic and molecular biology techniques to culture, image, and isolate DNA from stem cells. High school and college students with a deep interest in pursuing academic research opportunities and/or careers in biotechnology are encouraged to participate.

Class size is limited to 12 students to ensure low student-instructor ratios, social distancing, and a rich educational experience. This is an in-person course.

Prerequisites:

High school and college student

Deep interest in pursuing academic research opportunities and/or career in biotechnology and life sciences.
