Inventorship & Ownership of Patent Applications

Learn how to become an inventor on a US patent and the implications that inventorship of a patent has on its ownership.

How do you identify an inventor of patent application? Who “owns” a patent application? Before worrying about getting your patent application through the examination process, there is an important legal analysis that must be conducted to determine who the inventor(s) is/are on a patent application and then determining the ownership of the patent application. No life science start-up has been funded without owning (or exclusively licensing) its intellectual property. We will review the legal standard for determining inventorship/ownership and common pitfalls that arise in practice.

Lunch will be provided for all in-person attendees.
