Monica is a seasoned biopharma/medtech executive with over 30 years of experience working in a variety of strategic and operational executive positions in multi-national biopharma companies, start-ups, and boutique consulting firms. She has global experience in building billion dollar brands and launching products/new therapeutic applications globally while at Novo Nordisk.
As an entrepreneur, Monica co-founded and built a thriving pharma/biotech/medtech interim management and consulting firm, Atheln, Inc., with a team of over 100 industry-seasoned experts.
She is on the Dean’s Leadership Council for the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at University of California, Irvine and she mentors first-time CEOs through Women in BIO (WIB), BioCom, and California Life Sciences (CLS). Most recently, she became a mentor for NOME, an organization which provides mentorship for Nordic early-stage life science companies. Monica received an MBA from the Southern University of Denmark, and a BS in Biology and BA in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
